The garden share scheme links up people who have garden space with committed growers. The benefits for the garden owners include a share of the produce, the pleasure of seeing a lovely vegetable plot and a sense of community.
Enthusiastic committed growers will be matched with and introduced to local garden owners.
The scheme coordinator will meet with both garden owners and gardeners to discuss
their needs and requirements. These will then be paired to get the best match. The process will lead to an agreement between the gardener and the garden owner. Things to consider will include the hours the gardener can have access to the garden, where tools can be stored, what share of the food the owner has and how much notice needs to be given to end the agreement.
